In the U.S., Christmas is the biggest commercial season of the year. According to Business Insider, the average American will spend more than $700 on Christmas gifts alone this year.

Gift-giving makes us feel good. Most of us love to receive gifts, too!

What does God want us to give? Ask Him! Hebrews 13:16 tells us, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Part 2: Stressed Out or Mellowed Out?

The holidays can bring a sense of joy and excitement as we spend time with friends and family. But the season can also be filled with a multitude of responsibilities such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, and wrapping. Even parties can be stressful.

When Jesus visited his friends in Bethany, Martha was busy taking care of household responsibilities while Mary focused on spending time with Jesus. Jesus gently pointed out that Mary had her priorities in order (Luke 10:38-42).
